(Spring 2025 Season), which will begin on Saturday, February 15, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Wyandanch-Wheatley Heights Ambulance Corp. The program will span 10 weeks of Chess and Science sessions (number of sessions subject to change based on availability). Specific Science topics and presenters will be communicated ahead of the science sessions.
To participate, we request a $20 commitment donation per scholar, which covers the entire season. Donations are always appreciated as CFA is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization.
Payments can be made via:
- Checks: Payable to “Concerned Fathers Association”
- Zelle/PayPal: Use treasurer@cfali.org

Seating is limited, so please submit the attached registration form along with the commitment donation as soon as possible. While the registration form holds a seat for capacity planning purposes, the donation confirms the registration. Registration forms can be:
- Scanned and emailed in advance
- Submitted to a CFA member
- Delivered at a mutually agreed location
Chess Program:
The chess component aims to develop logical thinking, problem-solving skills, and creativity—while having fun! Each two-hour session includes:
- One hour of instruction: Separate beginner and advanced sessions with a chess coach
- One hour of gameplay: Students practice and hone their skills and strategies
Beginner and advanced students will switch classrooms after the first hour.
Science (STEM) Program:
The science component introduces students to exciting, STEM topics such as Robotics, Coding, Astronomy, Meteorology, Engineering, Math, Physics, Earth Science, Chemistry, Graphic Design, and Computer Technology. The goal is to expand their knowledge and exposure to the limitless possibilities of STEM.
As Rabindranath Tagore wisely said:
“Don’t limit a child to your own knowledge, for he/she was born in another time.”
Schedule Overview (subject to change):
- Location: Wyandanch-Wheatley Heights Ambulance Corp. (295 Merritt Avenue, Wyandanch, NY, 11798)
- Saturdays: 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Final Session – Presentation Day:
As in previous seasons, the program will conclude with a “Show and Tell” presentation day, where students can demonstrate or present their favorite Science/STEM experiments or topics to their peers. This has been a highlight of the program, with many students enthusiastically volunteering to share their interests. Photos from past presentations can be found in the document link below.
